I just got an e-mail warning me that telemarketers will be allowed to start buying cell phone numbers the first of Dec. Is this true? Am I the last to know?

Yeah, this one is an urban myth. I get it every once in a while. But, if this is something you are concerned about, check out

This is the national sign up site if you don't want to be bothered by those pesky telemarketers. You can sign up any landline or cell phones in your possession. More info is on the site.

this is called an Urban Legend and has been going around for years. Check out Snopes, or About.com for such stuff. I have subscribed to About for years and get frequent bulletins on what's new.

The email message you got was spam, probably forwarded from a "friend." If you have a spam blocker, block it. If you don't, delete it.
