On both sides of The Pond, the child would be taken from you, and put into 'the system' ('care' is much too nice a word).
You would probably have court-ordered drugs rehab, and have to prove your fitness as a parent, before you could even qualify for visits.
In the USA, statistically, you'd have an 80% chance or more, of losing your child for good. Single mothers who OD when they have small children also look at criminal neglect, and child-endangerment charges.
USA rehab would include parenting skills, and so forth, but honestly, most people fail.
UK doesn't have quite as rigid rules, nor as good treatment, for drug-addicts.
Don't count on seeing your child again.
(Personal opinion: Anyone who ODs on drugs, as a single parent of an infant, is not a safe parent, and has no business even thinking of trying to get her baby back. She needs to grow up, get clean and sober, get a job and a life, and then think of being a parent! ZERO tolerance from me, for addict parents! The price is too high, for the child/ren. Trash your own life, if you must, but NO ONE has the right to trash the life of a child!)

They would take the child for you and say that you are unstable and you are unfit to be a mother. They may even say that you have the ability to harm the child.

not something is shown yet i don't believe of it replaced right into a drug overdose. Jeff promised he's 100% drug loose now. i don't believe of he might want to destroy that promise contained in the biggest second of his occupation. yet like I reported not something is shown or reported yet so i don't believe of anybody can rlly say something about it. His well-being is extra major than wat his condition replaced into brought about by. also, for all all of us recognize, that is a artwork yet you by no potential recognize

The child would go into foster care, then you would have to prove to the court that you mentally stable enough to take care of him. then they will give your child back, but it is alot harder than it sounds.
