He breaks every one we get him; the problem is where the band meets the face is never strong enough to withstand his days. Anyone able to reccomend a good, strong (afforadable) watch for a Christmas gift?

There is a watch for men that hangs from a belt loop. Sailors,mechanics, etc. often use this type of watch. It is what my husband uses because he is both a sailor and a mechanic and was constantly getting a wrist watch caught up in something he was working on, and occasionally it would be dangerous. These watches are very sturdy and look quite good, so he could wear it when working as well as at more dressy occasions. He could have a pocket watch as another alternative. My husband has had his for more than six years now and no problems. There are lots of really nice ones. Here is one link that will show you several. Best of luck with it.

Keep your eyes open for the higher end watches. They use higher quality parts and the customer service is awesome, if it ever does fail. I had the same problem and then I bought my first Tag. Problem solved. Rolex and the other players are awesome too, but they can fetch a fair price. I wait for trips and duty free to buy higher end watches and their service plans are just as great.

Any good watch with a twist o flex band! I have a twist o flex band that has been through several watches. They are a bit on the expensive side, but are worth it I think.
I know it isn't classy, but I think Timex watches take the most abuse!

G-Shock watches- They cost about $100 bucks at Target and ar basically bullet proof. I also recommend them because the features and the ease of use.
