Kevin's right, it's not true that each country must have their own currency. Not only do many European countries use the Euro now, but some Latin American countries use the US Dollar. Unofficially, the US dollar is an acceptable currency in lots of countries.
Countries typically start out using their own currency as a matter of custom and tradition, because it's viewed as part of being a legitimate nation, because the government wants some control of the money supply, they want to put their own national heroes on the currency, etc. An advantage to using a unique currency is so that an individual country can control money-creation to adjust to economic conditions (eg, lower interest rates to stimulate lending and therefore increase the money supply, in order to fight a recession).

It doesn't have too. The Euro is the main currency of many different nations in Europe.
Typically, since currency is no longer backed with any real assets like gold, the currency's value is based on everyone's good will and their perception of it's value. If a country has a strong economy and is well run, it's currency is naturally viewed favorably. If it's a basket case, the currency is naturally worth less.

Because they can not afford to use U.S. currency, so they print their own. Our government tries to solve that by giving lots and lots of our currency to foreign dictators and UN officials so that they can buy luxury goods and open big Swiss bank accounts. Of course our taxes go up, but we must sacrifice so that dictators and despots around the world never have to be short on American cash.

Because we all like to have things different, and oh heck isn,t it all a real nuisance.
Just like curriculums with schools, within a country, for that matter around the world.
Governments are run by people, and people like to be different.
some one has to be bigger, better, nicer, always competition.
Or could it be because we all carry money in different types of bags, purses , wallets, recepticles?
Now that left you wondering.

Because every economy is different. Think of the economy in the United States compared to Central America. The standard dollar is worth different amounts. (More in the U.S., less in Mexico)
