Im not pregnant but do you like the name Dakota I want this to be my kids name one day and do you like the name Ginny also(don't know about Ginny)

My 8 year old daughters name is Dakota so I would have to say it's a great name. She loves it even getting the "Dodge" Dakota and are you from north or south dakota jokes, she really doesn't mind it at all. I like Ginny but I have to agree that it sounds like a nickname but my best friend named her kid Katie, so you just gotta go with what you feel most comfortable with. :)

Dakota is being "done" so much these days. It's okay, but Ginny is short for Virginia. You must like State names!

Dakota is cool, but it's very trendy right now, due partly to Dakota Fanning, but I think it started before her. If you don't mind it being really popular then go for it. Ginny sounds more like a nickname than a full name, like short for Jeannette or Jennifer. But it's cute.

Personally Dakota sounds like a dog or if a boy he would have long burnout hair, if a girl she would be trailer-ish. Ginny is beautiful and old fashioned. Please re-think Dakota.

Dakota is a nice name, just have fun trying to pick a middle name to go with it. I guess it all depends on if you are having a boy or a girl.
