The human species was sent into this galaxy to live due to the incorrigible and belligerent nature of our being. We were cast out of another galaxy where people live in perfect harmony, a virtual utopia. Here on earth we prey upon each other with violence, oppression, and greed. It's like disruptive children that have to be put out to alternative school also sometimes called the zoo. In the Utopian galaxy there is no real purpose except to enjoy existence. It's like when we make everything really nice for our pets. I don't have any real purpose for the fish in my aquarium except to watch them enjoying themselves without any worries. No bills, no taxes, no politicians, no violence, no corruption, no guns, no wars, no poverty, no hunger, they don't even have to go food shopping but just have fun. Unfortunately we are the defects, the rejects that had to be removed and sent away. By the way if you see Stephen King tell him to contact me I have an idea for a movie.

The purpose of a rose bush is most subtly expressed in form of beautiful roses that they so abundantly bring forth. If asked ‘what is the purpose of these rude and unlikely thorns then?’ The rose bush would say ‘the purpose of these sharp and upward pointing thorns is to protect the beauty of my purpose. For the grubs cannot crawl up my branches through these killer thorns to satiate their appetite, to munch upon the prize of my existence so lustfully. But I place no barricades against the purposes of bumblebees and butterflies that are so much in accord with mine as they most delicately take the pollen of my seed to the other bushes all around me that I myself cannot reach.’
The purpose of a potato plant is well concealed underground in form of nutritious potatoes so full of goodness that they have made an important part of staple human diet for centuries. The purposes of sweet potatoes and beetroots can also be found this way. The purposes of squashes, cucumbers and watermelons, on the other hand, are laid most cunningly on the ground for unpresumptuous fellows like us to pick up, consume the flesh and grow the seeds. The purpose of an apple tree, a pear tree, or a banana plant however hangs so temptingly in air that both people and animals cannot resist collaborating with their plans of spreading their kinds around the land.
The temperate airs have their purpose too, and so do the harsh cold winds that howl through the icy deserts where icicles are formed. When these contrasting winds intermix they cause climates to produce weathers, they cause rains to fall and thus crops grow all over the land, tree bear fruit and grasses thrive for cows and horses to so ecstatically graze upon. The fish hide their purpose deep into the oceans where shellfish hide their purpose in their crafty shells deeper still. While birds take their purpose to the skies and when they swoop down toward earth this has a purpose too for the unsuspecting prey to find out but often a little too late for their own good.
The purpose of the Sun governs all other purposes on earth. The purpose of the Moon is in her moonlight without which grains would not have their mellow sweetness; and without stars grains would grow too hard to germinate. The purpose of the creation of human beings is to observe this all, to know and appreciate as much as we can, to know that nothing is without a purpose; only we at times end up thinking that there is none.

To help destroy each other.
This earth has been here for 6 billion years, we humans have evolved only in the last 200,000 years. If you do your math, you can see how insignificant humans are in the earths longevity.
If we, humans pollute, or physically alter the surface of the earth, mother nature will take her time in reconditioning what we destroy. She has billions of more years to accomplish this.
Mother nature is watching and deciding if she wants to continue humanity. We have no say in this matter.

Well it depends if you believe in God or not. I think we were put on this earth to do good and help people, make the world a better place. Of course if we all believed that the world would be perfect and then we would have no point to live.

Human beings have no real purpose on this planet. We are the only living organism which destroys the environment around it. Rapes the planet, kills other animals for no real reason other than coz we want to.
There is only one other organism like this, and it's called a VIRUS!!!

Possible purposes
(Make God Happy)
The universe is ruled by a sensitive God who gets ragingly angry and totally loving at the same time. Life's purpose is to not make him mad, but to make him happy.
(Butterfly purpose)
Every little thing that you do know will affect the universe 1,000 fold in a billion years. Ergo life is still meaningless.
(Propagation)
Make babies. The path of the true catholic.
(Atheist)
You live, you die.
(Muslim)
Do anything it takes to make God happy. Anything...
(Wicca)
Love light and bless the tree's. When confronted by the goat man, give praise.
(Satanism)
All's well that ends in Hell.
(Scientologist)
Captain Galactico will save us from the tyrannical Xenu Lord Marshall. He will return with the spirit leeches so you must be prepared.

There is no purpose. All that matters is that we are here and now. We are part of the universe formed in this organic unity.
