I am 12 weeks pregnant and work in a doctors office, where sometimes I have to lift boxes that are kind of heavy I would guess like 30-40 pounds. How much is safe suring pregnancy. I do not have any other children, but wonder if it safe to pick up my 50 pound nephew. Thanks for any feedback :)

At this stage you should be fine unless you are a high risk pregnancy and your doctor has instructed you not to lift anything. Particularly if you were physically fit before conceiving or if you regularly lifted boxes of that weight before conception, you should be fine. Just listen to your body. If you feel sharp pains or pulling in your abdomen, stop and ask someone else to lift them for you. Certainly a doctor's office will try to be accomodating to your needs as a mother. I hope this helps!

Most doctors will tell you to go about your day as normal. If that means you lift 30 lb boxes every single day, then it should be ok to do now until it becomes to difficult. Of course confirm this with your doctor. And as for lifting your nephew, it is fine. If it weren't, a lot of 2nd, 3rd etc time moms would be in a lot of trouble.

Yes unless you're high risk or were unable to lift heavy things before becoming pregnant, you should be fine. I lift my four year old neice all the time, and then her near two year old brother almost just as much and I'm twenty two weeks and everythings fine.

Do not over do it and do whats comfortable.

I have 3 kids, a 5yr and twins, and lifting once in a while is no problem but everyday you have to put a limit. You'll start feeling it in a few months the sharp pains and not fun.

At this point you should be fine. Normally its around 25 pounds. My dr told me that as long aas my body is used to doing it I'd be fine. I have a 40 pounder here at home! Good Luck!

My advise is "Do not make yourself sick"! When I bake a cake at home from scratch, I always tell my kids to be quiet and also not to slam the doors,so my cake will come out beautiful

Baby= Happy Birthday Cake
