American Eagle One

Gary Swenson wants to be the fastest driver on Earth. That's why he and a team of helpers spent 10 years designing and building a jet-powered car called American Eagle One. Sometime this fall, Swenson hopes to drive the car faster than man or machine has ever traveled on land.

The record for fastest travel on the ground was set by Englishman Richard Noble in 1983. This "land-speed record" currently stands at 633.468 miles per hour (1,019.883 kph). That's about 10 miles (16 km) per minute--faster than most commercial airplanes fly!

Most of the Andy-500 cars average 240 miles per hour at time test, for qualifying. I believe it is 2 mile 1 lap.

Drag cars have all kind of classes, some use jet engine, and some even rocket engine, they a are very fast.

So are the stock cars this are the street certified car off the assembly live gutted to reduce weight, and engines modified to perform under racing conditions and some racing safety requirement added, they average 180+ miles per hour to qualify for races, these are the cars that provide us with reliability ans safety of to day's car and will keep contributing to these feature in future.

Then there are cars on Utah Salt Flats,in State of Utah, USA. The owners are big name companies the companies are engaged in al together different endeavours from liquor to shoes to Sport ware, but they have a car or two that are rocket engined, as big as old steam locomotive and they are all on the verge of breaking sound barrier.
