i love the central line too
you know why - its fast and frequent
you have a train every 2-3 minutes and boy does she go fast !! stratford to mile end non stop in less than 4 minutes - thats really good !
thats how all the other lines should run too. delays are also not so frequent on the central line
and the jubilee line has A LOT to learn from it !! chug chug chug..

The Metropolitan, Until you've been to Chalfont and Latimer and Chesham you haven't lived! And the fast dash from Finchley Road to Harrow is brilliant. Trains are the roomiest and most comfortable too. Did you know that the Metropolitan used to go to Aylesbury and beyond that to Verney Junction in Buckinghamshire? Trains were steam hauled from Rickmansworth and some had dining cars. British Rail took over the Aylebury service when steam trains stopped running in 1960. This is when the present Metropolitan trains date from.
At one time it was the intention that the Metropolitan would be a link in a through route from Manchester to Paris! In the late 19th century a financier controlled the Met, The Great Central (from Aylesbury to Manchester), the South Eastern Railway and a company that actually started to build the Channel Tunnel. Amazing but true....
p.s. the person who said that the Victoria line was one of the oldest is very wide of the mark. The first part only opened in 1968!

Ugh, how have so many people gone with the dodgy old lines - I've gone with Jubilee, because it's smooth, comfortable, modern and makes an awesome noise when it starts up. It's also a lot better sound proofed than others.
The 3 minute shuttle service that is Waterloo and City comes a close second.

Probably the Piccadilly line - firstly cos it takes me home after a long day (or night), but it goes to some of the best stops in London - Arsenal, Knightsbridge, Covent Garden, Heathrow!

Which ever one is taking me home at the end of the day.
No, seriously, it would have to be the Jubilee line.
I like the extra set of glass doors they have between the platform and the train - I'm one of those people who is quite likely to get my handbag (or leg) stuck in the door as it's closing. I am really bad at judging how long I have to make it from the escalator onto the train before the doors close.

The Victoria Line. It's the one I catch the most and where I get on it's usually quite empty (as opposed to later on along the line). I like the central line as well as you can sit on those little seats in the side windows, I hardly ever need to catch it though.

Can't believe nobody's plumped for the Metropolitan. I know it's ancient and not always reliable but the outer reaches is almost like a different world. A bit of scenery is a refreshing change from pitch black tunnels.
