Do you think that the way these companies like Sony etc. short ship their systems really only benefit the hardcore gamer? I mean, who really has the time to camp out in line for days at a Best Buy or something if they regular stuff to do.

These days, the hardcore gamer is not the one you need to worry about. I am a little stressed out right now because I would really like to get one, but the "others" that are waiting in line are sharks. They pretty much go and purchase the system and then sell them on Ebay for three times the price! I have already seen a PS3 on line, Chinese version, doesn't play PS2 or PS1 or DVD's and it is listed at 1,000 already. That is crazy!

Yeah, it must really favor the slacker, parent's basement gamer, tech geek, rich kid, and all four, that has and willing to spend hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars to get new gaming hardware when it first comes out. These video game corporations really prey on the the young, the ignorant, and the both...I'm 35, and I've been playing video games/PC games for years, but I'm seriously getting turned off by all this hype on the new consoles, especially when they only come out with only a few thousand to sell in the country before the holidays. You wait, and check the news. Their going to make people kill each other for these things.
