Was it ever confirmed that Iranian President Ahmadinajad was one of the embassy hostage takers?

when he was first elected people were saying that he was one of the hostage takers at the American embassy in Teheran in 1979. then all that speculation suddenly went away. Did they shut up because it would just be way too embarrassing for the U.S. government if they had to deal with a former hostage taker as the President of Iran?

Yes he was one of the taker.US is trying all ways to get him topple or been killed.
