They are "ear-rack" and "ear-ron" but many people say "eye-rack" and "eye-ron". News reporters pronounce them correctly. Have you ever noticed?

Yes, I have noticed, and it is the same as when people say "eye-talian" for Italian.

You are correct in your pronunciation of Iraq and Iran insofar that that's how natives pronounce them. However, we tend to pronounce country names using our own phonetics and language. For example, my Spanish-speaking friends say, "Estados Unidos de América." Germany is Deutschland. Mexico is Mēxihco. And so on.
In the same respect, I wouldn't say "ear-er-land" for Ireland.
Call it ethnocentrism, I guess. Try not to let it bother you. :)
