The dumb blonde is a stereotype typically applied to women (but may be applied to men) with blonde hair color, which achieved a degree of prominence in popular usage. Several notable actresses have been labelled "dumb blondes", Marilyn Monroe and Suzanne Somers (due to her role as Chrissy Snow on Three's Company) being perhaps two of the most notable examples. Dolly Parton is an example of a singer who used this image to her own benefit, singing songs such as "Dumb Blonde". Goldie Hawn is best known for playing a dumb blonde in several roles, including the stage persona she used on Laugh-In. Jessica Simpson is famous for her 'real life' dumb blonde persona. Paris Hilton is also considered a prominent dumb blonde judging on her many escapades that leak into the tabloids and the media. The bimbo is a similar stereotype, though a bimbo can have any hair color.
Stereotypes are ideas held by some individuals about members of particular groups, based solely on membership in that group. They are often used in a negative or prejudicial sense and are frequently used to justify certain discriminatory behaviors. More benignly, they may express sometimes-accurate folk wisdom about social reality.

I don't go by what hair color you are to see how intelligent a person is. X=D
But, there are rumors that bleached blondes ARE dumb. I watched this video clip once where they asked a blonde celebrity, so what do you eat? She was like ummm. Finally she said, I don't eat meat, just vegetables. They said, what did you have for lunch? Chicken. What? You ate chicken? Isn't that meat? No, she said. It's a bird, birds aren't meat.
Just an example that blondes do seem dumb sometimes. But does hair color really and truly matter? A really good question...maybe I need to research that in my next biology essay Lol...

Well um, I'm exactly like you. And to be honest, I'm blonde, and kinda dumb lol. I mean I'm as smart as any girl my age but I have really "blonde" moments. Do you talk about clothes, fashion, diets, guys etc alot? It could seem as if thats all you know about. And that can make you seem a little dumb.

Because it is a sterotype. Unfortunatley you blondes reinforce the stereotype to almost appear true. Similar to how blacks always steal and carjack. It is to the point now everytime you see a black dude walking down the street in a sweatshirt, jeans and a bubble jacket he is up to no good.

I don't think blonds are dumb. Maybe they just can't believe intelligence and beauty can come in the same package. If you want people to stop, prove yourself to them then.

If your happy w/ yourself you don't need to change, just don't let other people's insults affect how you feel about your self-worth. I have a sister thats blonde & I've heard some of the insults that were said about here cause of her hair color. She proved them wrong & as long as you don't give up, also you can prove them wrong.

Generally it is the bleached blondes that are dumb. If you are naturally blonde, then this does not apply to you.
