Speed, quickness... it's often used in a negative way for people who act fast without thinking/looking, if they're too eager.

Haste means doing something properly and thouroughly but at an accelerated rate made possible by a greater degree of skill. Hence the saying "More haste, less speed"
Speed is not the same as haste, speed is doing something quickly, correctly or incorrectly

Haste means doing something so quickly (rushing through it) that you don't get it done correctly so then you have to do it all over again. As the saying goes "Haste makes Waste".

Haste = quickly/hurried
ie - make haste = go quickly
However in some ways it also means "quickly and directly" hence the expression "More Haste, less speed." when you want someone to do something quickly for you but still do it well.

Or you can use hastily.
