First of all, you shouldn't be changing the jewelry unless the piercing is fully healed and at least 4 months old.

Also, keep in mind the bottom ball on some navel jewelry is fixed in place and cannot be unscrewed.

What you should do is wash and dry the area well to remove any dirt and oil. Pick up a pair of latex gloves to give you a better grip on the jewelry and twist the top ball gently as to not rip the piercing or hurt yourself.

What you SHOULD NOT DO is use pliers unless they are meant specifically for what you are doing. Pliers will often scratch and chip the jewelry which is not good and you will most likly hurt yourself. And some said to use WD-40...DON'T!

Even if you are still having troubles, though unfamiliar with the area, I'm sure it will be easy to use google or the yellow pages to find a local tattoo or piercing shop that can help you out.

i dont think it will harm you if you have no open sores but read the back anyway,,,plug your navel with tissue or sponge,,get a Cotton bud with some wd40 on it and dab at the threads,,it should help allow some movement, clean thoroughly afterwards.

Go to another tattoo parlor or piercing place in the state that you're in now and ask them to help you.

your probably having a hard time with the ball slipping ... try rubber gloves. this will give you a good grip on the ball... if that dosent work go to the shop. they will remove it for you. but be careful..
