make your own.....walk around the place you're in now from room to room and make a list of everything there that you'll need. Don't forget things like TP and cleaners mop, broom, light bubls ect.

well first, compile a list of things you DO have. be sure to get rid of things you dont need. and from there make the list. if you got a list from someone else you probably will have useless things on that list that may have been good for them. like if you dont watch a lot of tv why would you need a really nice surround sound entertainment center. just a thought! and while your making the list start picturing the rooms the way you would like to set them up, then you can see how much free space you will have and how many things you will need to buy. say you have a HUGE living room and only 1 tiny couch. your room is going to look empty no matter what you do! so start with those tips. and dont worry, youll build your new home up as you go. good luck in the new place and let me know how it goes!

I have been there soooo many times and there is only one way to do it right:

1. As soon as you think of stuff you need for your home, you write them down. Do this a few days before you move in, in order to compile a decent list.

2. You understand of course that it is impossible to get the list right beforehand. It doesn't matter if you compile your own (best option), or if you look at several websites. The issue is you HAVE to move in to get it right, because there is no other way to discover every aspect of your new environment and THAT is the key to assess your everyday needs.

Besides, even if you could figure out everything (not likely), where would you store all that stuff and how would you possibly know that they can be nicely combined??? Is it not much better to build your interior progressively and with style?

So, ok write down a few stuff, but instead of compiling neverending lists and checking dozens of websites get moving in your new home!!

A new house (or rental property) is a big responsibility, and a large expense for a first-timer. Try to use all the stuff you have now, and only buy as you need. Use the bed and comforter you have now, once you determine your own style, and what fits in your house and budget - then you can decide what to buy.

As someone who worked in the real estate industry for 5 years, I can say that I have seen many people who get in over their heads quickly while trying to furnish a new home....they just were not prepared for all the expenses that go with maintaining a home. Try not to make any BIG purchases until you have lived there for 6 months and can accurately budget your money...this is still good advice for someone going into their first apartment.

Just look around you where you live now...what do you use....same thing when I pack..I start with how I start my day...add as you go along.

Go somewhere that has wedding registry..check out the preprinted list there. That should give you a start.
