He's a bully. He's always been a bully and he'll always be a bully. As long as he is enabled by spineless athletic directors and keeps recruiting kids whose parents care more about winning than the well-being of their sons then he'll continue to prosper. He espouses discipline but yet shows none in his own character. He's a winner on the court and a loser in all else.

He can be a very nice guy and he can be an ******. I met him one time and he was really nice. However he demands respect from people and from his players. When a guy gets upset at a student and grabs his arm for calling him Knight instead of Coach Knight and tells the student he should show respect. That is going a little far such as ****** would.
I personally think that a coach shouldn't touch his players unless showing them how to play (ie - grabbing their shoulders in practice to show the correct stance) or basically the ever so common smack on the butt when they head out onto the court.
What he did was out of line. Some other coaches may do that, but not a whole lot of them. Yes they will throw temper tantrums and break their white board or throw markers at the wall or yell and scream. But physically smacking the person shouldn't be done.

Let's just put it this way, he takes an authoritarian approach when he deals with his players. It's not an commonly accepted approach, especially in today's sports, but Knight has shown success in the past and is not about to change for anyone.

no he doesnt, hes just coaching a team the way he knows how and i feel as tho he is doing a good job..with this latest incident both the player and his father said coach knight did nothing wrong...if it was any other coach it would not be as big of a problem but seeing as though its bobby knight its all over the news and is a sports writters dream.

Of course he does! He has even said he is an ******. However, he has gotten the job done. I have not heard of too many players that have spoken out against him.
My only issue with him, was when he choked the one player. All of his other antics are part of the game. (stretching it a little, part still part of it)
We have gotten too PC for our own good!
