probably you have too much startup programs so when they all work during the startup of windows they cause your computer to slow doewn a little bit until they are fully activated, then your computer will work properly again.

This problem depends upon a number of factors. First, what programs are trying to load when you start the computer. Check this out by running MSCONFIG. (certain versions of windows don't have this anymore for some reason)
The best thing to do is to run an anti-spyware and anti-virus scan, then start examining what programs are running on the taskbar near the clock.
I once worked on a computer like your, and there were four security programs (virus, spyware, firewall, and general security) that were all doing an update EVERY TIME the laptop was started.
If you waited five minutes, then the programs finished their updates, and everything was fine. I suspect that you could be having similar problems. But check spyware and viruses first.

Your problem is common - and although you did not give specifics on your computer (processor speed, memory, etc) I can tell you what your problem likely is.
Many software programs these days automatically install themselves so that they start when you turn your computer on. An example would be AOL Instant Messanger. Look at all the programs that load in your system tray as the computer turns on (near your clock.) Many programs are system ones that are not optional (virus scanning for example), but I am guessing you have many programs like IM or ICQ - Quicktime perhaps if you have iTunes installed, maybe RealPlayer.
Check out all of these programs, and if you right click on the icons many will lead you to an options menu or preferences menu that will allow you to tell the program not to come on at startup. Each program's method to turn this option off is different.
Also check out your "Startup" folder on your Start Menu. You may find programs in there you don't want loading up. If you are in doubt as to whether you need it, I would recommend leaving it.
Finally, as your computer needs expand your need for memory (not hard drive space, but RAM) also expands. Consider a memory upgrade. If you have 256mb, up it to 512. If you have 512, go to 1024. These upgrades will generally run you under $100 if you shop carefully.
Hope that helps!

Your English is really puzzling to appreciate, so, i'm guessing it isn't your mom tongue. If i have understood you properly, you're putting forward it takes 10 minutes on your pc to load? that is one helluva lengthy time period!? Are you constructive you do not propose 10 seconds? Now, you're saying you've were given a Pentium 4 with 128 MB RAM. Are you, through any probability, operating living house windows XP?because, when you're, then that is the reason that is taking position. because XP needs a minimum of 512 MB RAM to operate optimally! a million GB is reccommended for operating purposes alongside with it. you'll do nicely to study of the minimum criteria earlier you load an OS and purposes. i assume that you're operating living house windows XP place of work too, and some different classes; all of which want to apply the RAM and also you've were given only 128 MB available there! you'll do okay to improve yuour RAM, for starters. wish this facilitates you come back to a call the project. each and each and every of the perfect. Cheers

You have too many programs loading on startup. If you have a bunch of Icons on your toolbar in the bottom right corner, that is slowing you down. You can stop them from starting up when windows starts up by going to (START) then( RUN) then type msconfig
a window will open click on the tab that says startup or something to that effect then you can select the programs that start on startup.that should improve your start up.

a few things can be happening:
- a program is running in the background
- a service is starting
- a virus is running in the backgroud
or your computer is dying...

Check to see what unused programs are opening up automatically when you start your computer.
