Shake baking soda liberally all over the seats and carpets, leave overnight and hoover up. Repeat another time and you will find this has gotten rid of most of the smell.
Spray the ceiling and door fabric with febreeze and clean the dash with a nice lemon scented cleaner. Open the windows whenever possible.

If it's any comfort I had exactly the same problem. The previous elderly owner just used the car to take the dog to the park.
It had been professionally valeted but still smelt bad especially in warm weather.
We tried an number of the things suggested but the best I found was leaving the windows open whenever possible when parked at home to let fresh air blow thro. It took some weeks but now it only kicks in a little in the winter when you first put the heater on.
It will go; believe me!
Best wishes, James

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7RI
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Spinkle a jar of baking soda all over the seats, carpets etc. Leave for at least 24 hours and then hoover off. Clean the windows as well. If it's really bad you might need to get a mechanic to change polen filters in your air vent system. The baking soda is the key bit.

I have a dog myself and always, when possible, leave my car with the doors open to air in nice weather. I always have air fresheners hanging up, use Tesco's own version of Febreeze, and - best of all - burn about 6 joss sticks all at once (carefully) with the doors and vents tightly shut. Works wonders but fresh air is really the best deodoriser both in the car and the home.

A dog will only smell if he is wet or dirty. Always clean and dry the dog thoroughly and when in car, open the window only by an inch or so.
If this did not help, use the oust (the odour eliminator) . My dogs always travelled with me in the car. They never smelt.

Most pet stores have a range of odour neutralisers that contain enzymes specifically designed to deal with biological stains and odours. They come in simple spray bottles and are not expensive. I swear by them....my cat always messed her box when travelling in the car and it dealt with that straight away. They also work to get rid of fish smell....dog should be a breeze.

I find that neutradol is a good and safe product for neutralising odour without masking it with another 'nice' smell and thereby creating an even more horrible smell.
