Oh god yes. I am going for a brand new job, moving into my boyfriend family home until we move into our newly bought flat and I haven't got the time/money/patience or 'jolliness' in my heart for christmas!

I am soooooooooooooooo not looking forward to Christmas this year. I have no idea what I'm going to buy people - I swear down I nearly had a panic attack the other day when I started thinking about it! Also, I'm only on a temporary contract at work, and this is due to end on December 15, so I will most likely be out of a job unless I find something else, and I just know that my dad will give me a hard time about. I could really do without the added stress.

I am looking forward to it, despite the fact this year has been the worst year we have ever experienced. I have the hope that next year will be better and I wont let anyone or anything stop me enjoying the one time of the year that I love the most. I lost the job I loved through unfair dismissal, we are moving home and can't afford the mortgage now. However I start a new job in just over a week and hope that we will have a better footing.
I love Christmas for the lights, the colours, the cheesy films, the magic of it all. I wont let anything ruin that.

Glad to hear I'm not in the "sinking boat" alone this year at the holidays.
Chose divorce and poverty it seems instead of remaining married to an abusive drunk and things have been tight. But family realizes it and we will enjoy each others company, have a good meal and not have the stress of "is this gift right? Is the color or size right" who needs all that stress anyway? I think Christmas should be more like Thanksgiving where you get with those you love and share your time, your stories, your love, it's not supposed to be about who can give the most expensive, elaborate gifts.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed that I won't have much money this Christmas, because I actually enjoy getting surprise gifts for family and friends, however small they might be, and I don't think I'm gonna be able to do that this year. Because the families are aware of the financial status of my husband and myself, I'm afraid they'll spend more on us this year than usual, and that would make me feel really bad.

Nah, I don't really care for Christmas or any other holidays. They are just vacations from work to me. I love Halloween though

We are so totally skint its untrue, we'll get by and enjoy it as best we can but the old red bank balance will cast a shadow over us, even if we don't realise it! And to make matters worse its the damn banks fault! haha isn't it always?
