neone know whats the best firewall to use?please recommend me..i don't care it's free or not....and also..is there any program that is like windows defender or better than it..or is window defender the only program there is thats like itself?

ok...i will answer your question....first off....lets start with the firewall
if u are using windows xp sp2...it has a built in firewall...it blocks all incoming traffic...but no outgoing....so it is not a very good firewall...if u are computer savvy..u can set it up to block most anything
so the thing to do is either go here or here and download one of these free firewalls,,zone alarm is rated on of the very best for years now....and comodo is a very effective firewalll that has passed all test

ok now for windows defender......as stated above ...windows defender IS NOT A FIREWALL,,the guy who said that is wrong...windows defender is a spyware program....yes there are a few that are better the defender......

Personally I would recommend dumping windows defender and getting either BlackICE or ZoneAlarm. Either one of those two firewalls are good. BlackICE is more intensive and technical, while ZoneAlarm is more user friendly. Though both have their good points. As for an anti-virus, etc. I would recommend either Avast or Norton Anti-virus Corporate Edition.

i use symantec anti virus. but i run a virus scan once a week and defrag my hardrive once every 6 months
