Depends on the maturity level. I would never consider leaving my 15 year old alone. I wouldn't have a home to come back to. lol. Now when my 11 year old gets older (17 or so) then I may consider leaving her alone one night, but I'd be calling every hour on the hour.

I was first left alone at 16 which was a good age. Basically just test the water. I'd say never under 16 however mature they appear. Then when you leave them for a night leave them be since its only one night.Don't be ringing up at all hours because thats just annoying. See it as a test to see if you can leave them longer, are they responsible lock everything up etc. All you should do is leave an emergency number and look forward to seeing them the next day.

Theres no legal age for leaving children unsupervised, but it is recommended that children are about 13 to be left inside unsupervised.

Guidelines also recommend that children under 16 should not be left alone unsupervised for the whole night.

This will be dependant on a number of things such as maturity and age of the child, the trust you have in them, who's house will they be left in and whether they are able to contact their parents easily.

Although there is no set age limit, you should use your discretion and if have any doubts, it's probably best to get a baby sitter in.

I would say it depends on maturity, and more importantly if they feel comfortable been left alone all night, it sounds a good idea for teenagers at the time but it does get quite scary, maybe have a neighbour call in on them or tell them they can have a friend to stay over with them, Just one though not 50!

I believe the legal age is 16. However, I think it should be how mature that child is. Some are ready at 14 and others not at 16. Being a responsible person should always be a factor in that decision making.

in UK there is no legal limit. Some wouldn't leave their 18 year old some would be happy leaving a 12 year old. The point is you are not allowed to leave your child(ren) in danger. What if the house caught fire? Could you be sure the child(ren) could get out, or just stay put in a dangerous situation?
So no age legally just common sense and your free choice and conscience.

I think it is 13 to look after yourself, 14 to look after siblings and 15 to babysit others. However I think this applies to a few hours, not over night. I would imagine it would be 15, but I suppose it depends on the maturity of the person.

21. I wouldn't trust any teenager home alone over night at any age. They may say they will be good but guarantee a party is a brewing!

it depends on how mature the person is some people mature faster than others, also if there is help for them if they need it close by, and what sort of area do you live in if it is a really rough area it could be dangerous, if you have a mature person and a neighbour or relative nearby then 16 years old

This really depends on where you live and how mature and responsible your kid is. I think 15 is ok, unless your kid is likely to take advantage of the freedom. When I left my kids alone, I told them that to expect friends and family to be checking up on them. And they did. Set rules!
