A demorcrat would be a Liberal. In fact, in America, Republicans are often referred to as conservatives and Deamocrats are often referred to as Liberals. I hope this helps. Blessings to you.

From what I understand (I'm going by what I know on England) the Labour Party is somewhere in between the Liberal & Conservative Parties. But from my understanding, the Liberal & Conservative Parties are actually more liberal and conservative (respectively) than either the Democrat or Republican Parties of the U.S. are.
Since you didn't mention the Conservative Party, I would say that the Labour Party are the "Republicans" of Australia. But again, I'm going on what I've read about the English government.
[Added] the above user is somewhat biased. Democrats believe in helping those underprivileged, if they are unable to obtain a feasible quality of living themselves.
Now for my biased comparison:
Think Robin Hood. Robin Hood certainly wasn't a Republican (that's more Goldilocks.)

Republicans give and work for the rich and the corporations in our country. Anything that they want goes. No matter how it effects the rest of the people in this country the rich and corporations rule. Where the Democrats are more for the people at least we hope they are. Shortly after the Democrats came to power Walmart a company that paid their employees low wages. Gave their employees a raise. The Democrats will also raise the minimum wage which the Republicans didn't. Mostly because it was voted down by the Democrats because they added a tax break for the rich on it that would have saved the rich 50 million dollars. So bottom line Democrats good Republicans bad.

Democrat are liberals. The look for free hands outs by the government. Republicans are the same as your Labour party. They believe in working for a living.

Actually, both Democrat and Republican are "Liberal" though, as a matter of fact it is Labour that is liberal, not the Liberals, as the Liberals liberalism is economic.
What we have to remember is that USA only has parties in one political spectrum.

Democrats have always stood for Labor and the Unions, and for the people, not big business and corporations. Liberal is a term the Republicans just use loosely with their hatred of other people. You would be the best to separate the two by your party's commitments.

I am neither American nor Australian, so I will not comment on your parties. However, I would make the general comment that if you try to force parallels between political parties in different countries you risk misunderstandings between the organisational structures, informal practices and politcal cultures in the political systems concerned. In addition, there is a growing tendency for parties internationally to seek links. This is to be deplored in that it tends to make political elites look to international influences before the interests of their party members and electors.

because the democratic elite favor to regulate the adverse democrats. The adverse democrats are politically unaware and actual fooled and the elite democrats assume that. The elite democrats throw the adverse democrats a bone, and similar to a unswerving canines, they lick the boots of the elite democrats who're partying hardy, even as the adverse democrats, eat crumbs.
