No. The two operate on different frequencies within the "cable" and do not interfer with each other. Plus, even if you do not have the cable TV picture turned on to your house, the signal is still traveling through the cable itself, going to your nieghbors, etc. It is just blocked before it enters your home.

No. They operate on two different frequencies. Think of your cable as a multi lane highway. Cable TV is on one lane and Internet is in another. Older cable modems used to experience some interference unless special filters were used when using internet and tv on the same line. That is no longer a problem with the implementation of DOCSIS cable modems.

No, not connected in any way other than how the cable itself looks. I have heard you can even use the one line for both TV and cable modem but it is illegal.
