Since velocity is a vector quantity, involving both speed and direction, and since butterflies around the world are flying in every direction, the average VELOCITY of them is zero.

If you want the average SPEED, say so.

It is difficult to say.Air speed or ground speed. The wind affects the speed. Nevertheless a butterfly can move a lot faster than we can jog.
