We're still good friends although we now live in different countries. I'm going to see her next week and I have no idea what to get for her birthday. It has to be around 50-80quid and be able to survive a 7hour flight in my suitcase. Any Ideas welcome

Cheers Del. I'd already thought of not getting her a present but I know from her brother that she's got me a birthday gift so it seems bad form!

80 quid?! If shes your EX girlfriend then how much do you spend on your current girlfriend!! must be a lot!

I take it u know shes spent that much on u and that is why you feel the need to buy an expensive pressie.

If you are good friends, why do you still refer to her as the ex girlfriend? Just refer to her as a friend!

if she bought you an expensive gift shes trying to impress you and probably wants you back or has feeilings for you still.

I would start reading in to why she is your ex and not your girlfriend, as you obviously really care for her to even bother to ask this question, and worry about what to buy her!

Well, there are many different things that you could buy that wouldn't get messed up or destroyed. There is always stationary paper and envelopes, there is makeup (including nail polish and lipstick), you definitely will need a birthday card, and perfume, and other things. You just have to think like a girl for a moment.

Jewellery... although not really nice jewellery because she'll think you still like her.
Unless you do still like her in which case you should ger her nice ones.

Actually why are you buying for your ex girlfriend?
You must still like her or you'd describe her as a 'friend' not ex-girlfriend.
I'd recommend flowers with the jewellry (maybe a matching necklace and earing set, white gold)

Are you flying just to see her? I would think that would be present enough, but I would suggest that you take her out to dinner for her birthday, and get her a nice card. You can also have flowers delivered.

Get her a nice selection of MAC makeup - there's a good MAC shop in Dubai airport next to the sunglasses stand!

well, jewelry is always a safe bet BUT girls like it when you are sincere. we don't care about your money or car or the crap you give us. If my boyfriend gave me something that was pasted together and had pop sickle sticks I would LOVE it. so, pick her favorite thing and do something creative.
