Check the media and print settings
Power cycle the printer by removing the cord from the back of the printer when the printer is powered on, wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
Make sure the printer is powered on, if not, push the power button to power on.
Verify that the paper to be loaded in the printer is not ripped, dusty, wrinkled, curled, or bent. If the paper is curled, uncurl the paper by gently bending it in the opposite direction of the curl.
NOTE: Use plain paper in the unit until the issue is resolved.
Verify that all of the paper is the same size and type.
Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
Verify that the stack of paper to be loaded in the unit contains at least 25 sheets of paper.
NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the printer.
Insert the stack of paper into the printer and then gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper.
Adjust the paper settings in the print driver. The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
a) Open a document in the application in which it was created.
b) Click File.
c) Click Print.
d) Click Properties. The Printer Properties dialog box displays.
e) Click the Paper/Quality tab.
f) In the Size is drop-down menu, select the size of the paper loaded in the unit.
g) In the Type is drop-down menu, select the type of paper loaded in the unit.
h) Click OK.
NOTE: These changes do not change the default print settings. The print settings will revert to the default print settings the next time the application is opened.
On the Print dialog box, click OK to print the document.
NOTE: If the issue is resolved and you want to print on another type of media, change the paper in the unit and then repeat steps 2 through 7 for the new media.

The rollers on the printer are most likely dirty, or misaligned. Clean them with some 50% alcohol. You also need to fan the printer paper to break the electromagnetic cling which is a common occurance with printer paper. If that doesn't work, try a different brand or weight of paper. If it's a misalignment problem, you might need a new printer unless you are handy at fixing things (Assuming the warrenty is over).

try putting in just one sheet of paper. if that doesn´t work try to see if some object is jammed in and it´s blocking the way for the paper.
Or the roller that feeds the printer paper has broken or something.

If you are having an issue with the HP Deskjet printer you may need to clean the paper feed rollers manually. The issue is may even be with the incompatible media you are using. So, I suggest you to use the compatible media for the printer.

Probably one of the rubber rollers that grabs the paper and slides it up has slipped it's grip on it's spindle. Find the one on the side that isn't moving up and super glue it back to tightness. Then it should work.
