The Dark Tower series is epic & an incredible read. The last one, "The Dark Tower", made me cry twice, which has never happened to me before (from reading a book, anyway).
For a single novel, it would be "The Stand" (uneditted version). A marvelous & stirring tale, IMHO.

Im not a big fan of Stephen King though but my partner loves the Dark Tower series, cant get him to lift a finger while his nose is stuck in those books!

Mine is The Stand. But I really enjoyed the Dark Tower Series as well. It's interesting to read all his other works and find the references to Roland's world.

I am on my last Dark Tower book and it is amazing. I must admit i very nearly gave up middle way through the first book but I didnt and now I am hooked. Apparently there is a sketch book coming out with all the characters in it. I have always wondered what Roland looks like!!!!!

Good choice!

The Stand
I will say that this was a very difficult question to answer as I have many favorites of his to include The Dark Tower Series.

I loved the Dark Tower series. But my favourite singular book of his has got to be 'It'.

The Stand - awesome
It - very good
Dark Tower Series - enjoyed it but not up to his early standards.
I read everything (incl. short stories) up to 'It'.
Then read Dark Tower - then a couple after that. Now I only re-read his good stuff.

Needful Things - the way the characters are developed is fantastic, and the way it nods towards the other castle rock books is really clever.

Carrie is also great - I have enjoyed all Steven King Books but theses 2 really stand out.
