can i use a single 80-pin cable to connect a pata hasd disk and a dvd writer? how?

i have a sata hdd already in my pc.
can i do the above and how?

You want to connect another PATA HDD with the DVD Writer, correct ? You have to select the PATA HDD as Master by following the jumper configuration as displayed on your hard disc cover, different HDD companies have different settings. To select the DVD Writer as slave just move the jumper on the middle two pins marked as SL.
