My husband just got a new (used) car but it smells like someone's old ashtray. He dosen't seem to really notice it but I can hardly stand to be in the car. It's a great car except for the smell. Any suggestions on how to get the odor out would be much appreciated.

You should take it to a pro and get the inside cleaned....detailed cleaning...put some of those air freshener fans in the vents so when the heat/AC is on you blow good smelling air....

there are some great products on the market to help absorb the smells. but if you really want a now product use Fabreeze as well as a odor absorbing product.

Try Febreze or else put several scented dryer sheets up under the car seats. The dryer sheets work well for quite a while and they won't dampen your upholstery.

Use a steam cleaner on all the fabric & get some new car sell deoderizer

buy new car mats. put dryer sheets in the seat cracks. make a ball with a trouser sock, or old hose, filled with cedar chips like you put in an animal cage.
