Washer fills with water...then nothing. Almost like it has no power yet I can hear it trying to run with an occasional buzzing noise. When I turn the timer, nothing happens. I have an entire load of laundry in a tub of water stinking.

I always find it amazing that people here right away say "its the timer" without even diagnosing it. There are several possibilities one is the timer, then the lid switch, and then there is another electrical problem.

Best way to find out if its the timer is, advance it manually, if it starts, then its the timer, if not, could be the timer or the lid switch. If it doesnt, then it could first be the lid switch, then the timer.

I wish people woult stop giving advice which is so precise when they havent diagnosed it. in person. Beware of people who say its that or that or tell you to "junk it" and buy a new one. They are full of ....... well, you get my drift.

You have a problem, really. Take the clothes out, no matter how bad they smell. Take to the nearest laundro-mat, and do your wash. In the meantime call a repairman and tell what your problem is. Your timer on the switch is the bad guy, it's going to cost you about forty bucks for the timer switch and the call time. If it's something serious like the gearbox, but a new washer. It's cheaper.

Its probably the Timer, but first check the Lid, make sure the lid is down tight, there is a saftey switch, use a stick and depress that switch. See if it works.

Your timer is bad which allows the washer to run through it's cycles
