I am growing out my hair for the locks for love thing (donate healthy hair to make wigs for cancer patients) This is something I am excited about, and tell people all the time that they should do it too.
I had a dream that I cut my hair and threw it on the floor. I don't know why.

I think its because you are frustrated (or perhaps determined is a better word) because you want to do more for people than just give them your hair. The fact that you want to do something clearly demonstrate that you are willing to take action and help those who are sick. Perhaps your dream means that you don't want to limit yourself to simply giving up your locks. :o)

Sometimes dreams just are a way of acting out what is happening to us in our awake time. For instance, if you are worried about a dental problem you may dream about losing your teeth... if you are worried about a relationship you may have troubled dreams about that person. It is a wonderful compassionate thing you are doing and you must be giving it a lot of thought for you to be having such a dream. If you are having concerns over your appearance after you cut your hair, you may try trying on a short wig yourself so you can concentrate on a new style. There are also websites that provide hairstyles that are computer graphics that you can morph in your photo to let you see what you will look like in them.

Hair is part of your body. Threw it on the floor is the action you do with your hair.

You projected your hair being cut and thew it on the floor. That could symbolize some sort of decision making. It could relate to your decision to give fror cancer patients. However, throwing it on the floor could subconsciously mean that you are not willing. In other words, you are sometimes struggling in making this decision in this case.

the part of cutting off your hair doesn't seem out of sequence, yet throwing it onto the floor.....hmmm...well, throwing something on the floor, it may be done in anger, or disgust....it is kind of open-ended.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on your dream. Just keep participating in the noble cause and don't stop unless something absolutely prompts you to stop.

"To dream that you are cutting your hair, suggests that you are experiencing a loss in strength. You may feel that someone is trying to censor you. Alternatively, you may be reshaping your thinking or ambitions and eliminating unwanted thoughts/habits."

Castration, apparently. My boyfriend is studying to be a psychoanalist and he says that any dream you have were a part of your body is about castration. Even if you don't think about castration its all in the unconscious.
