In the program's Options Menu, turn off the Quic Pane (which is what displays messages on the bottom of the screen once you highlight them on the top) and then, when you highlight an e-mail, it won't open. Then, you're able to delete it.

attachments are attached in the emails. if u open the email virus won't affect ur pc. but if u open the attachment it will cause trouble. it's advisable not to open any attachments received from an unknown person. don't open files with extension .scr .exe

Opening an e-mail can't give you a virus, generally speaking. Now, downloading the attachments to that e-mail can. Just don't download anything or save any attachments, and you should be A-OK.

You should be able to tick a box next to the email and delete it. If you can't do that then you should contact your email provider and see what they say.

If you are using Eudora, you can delete that file from "Program Files/Qualcom/Eudora/Attach" folder.

If you are using Outlook express, you can't delete without deleting particular email.

Take care.
