since silence is golden tell them to shut up and get rich. alternatively you could use the duct tape to close their mouths. But dont forget to let them know it is you who are doing them a favour. Okay, okay im duct taping myself now and am going to wait for my gold mine to accumalate.

bring out the old family photo album and duct tape them to the chair, I'm sure they'll shut up then,the crying may get annoying though

gag em with the Duct tape and tell them that when you remove it if they havent shut up you will cover their face in GOLD permanent marker. well worth a shot anyway.

That is funny! I would say by not opening the door to such discussions you don't want to hear others' opinions about. If you didn't initiate the subject, then it's up to you to not respond to what they are saying, which fuels the fire. Simply nod and change the subject! (or channel).
