I think he will re affirm America's commitment toward SE Asia regional free trade, and dealing with the threats of terrorism. But yes, the memories of Vietnam will haunt the US in the summit. Best to forgive and forget. But, you should ask the Vietnamese that question. People still suffer from the terrible weapons used by the US during the Vienam war.
