Thirty five percent of the people in Congress are millionaires. One percent of the American people are millionaires. Does this help explain why people feel our elected officials do not represent us?

What has always bothered me was - If your congressman was elected as the peoples' representative, AND as a representative of a party, should he vote with the party or should he vote to satisfy most of his constituents?
Money doesn't have anything to do with it. They can always vote themselves more money and better retirement plan.

Is it their financial status which bothers you? or is it the financial standing of these are Americans you are posting about.
When was the last time you voted for a non millionaire/billionaire Congress person?

Millionaire Democrats in Congress say they hate the rich, and want to punish them.
The ignorant actually believe them and vote Democrat.

In descending order of importance: their own self interests, lobbyists, their party, their constituents, the US national interest.
