Be at their level. Use similar words they use. Replicate similar body language that they do. Let them determine the distance they want to be from you. Ask questions so you know where they are coming from.

I think listenting... really hearing another person and letting them know you acknowledge them. For instance to repeat some of what they said so they know they had your attention. Listening does not mean you have to agree with others opinions... it just means you believe they are entitled to their beliefs.

you will have to communicate things about yourself to the other person so first of all BE YOURSELF.then you can act appropriately to how the other person demands of you in that situation.lol.hope its helpful
