I find the best place to check out a new city is on the City's Visitors Bureau site.
It has information on accommodation and transportation:
http://www.okccvb.org/

Often you will find information about groups and singles on the local newspaper's site (the classifieds):
http://www.newsok.com/theoklahoman/main/

I hope this will at least be a place to start for your enquiries.

I agree with the person above me. Looking in the North OKC area of 122nd & Penn Ave is a good bet. Most all of those apartments are pretty cheap. The Highlands were recently renovated so you can get a not bad apartment for a fairly cheap price. Try to stay away from Sun Ridge and the Village at Stratford though, as they have A LOT of problems. We just moved out of the Village at Stratford, and can say that I would definitely NOT suggest it.

There are bus stops up right by all of the apartment complexes, so that shouldn't be a problem! :)

Also, there are many restaurants in that area. Pretty much any type of food you can imagine, you've got it right there on Memorial Rd plus there's a large mall not half a mile away. :) Besides the neighbors you might encounter at your apartment, the area is nice and very convenient!

Hope all goes well for you and enjoy OKC!

there's no way their going to call a specialist crew after a 80's sketch instruct. It appears like a popularity for a pee wee basketball crew, not a multi-million NBA crew. this may't be what their going to call the crew. that is both... A) A rumor spread by someone who's getting a kick out of this camotion B) Clay attempting to pull a quickly one to distract everybody from revelling the authentic call. or... C) Clay nonetheless questioning he's dreaming that he honestly were given the sonics relocated to OKC and in view that that is purely a dream, not purely can he fly yet he can honestly use a stupid call like Thundercats. What do Thundercats ought to do with Oklahoma or basketball for that count number. i have heard undesirable nicknames formerly, yet most of the time there eithe a minor league crew or a severe college. Untill I listen from a source like ESPN or SI, then enable's pray that that is all one undesirable rumor. observe: no matter if or not they call themselves "The Thundercats", can they atleast get rid of the interest "city". what percentage different specialist Oklahoma communities are we going to cunfuse them with. to boot, even as your crew has 9 syllables in that is total call, then there's a issue.

well...if you're wanting a cheap apartment and to be fairly safe...which I would assume you would. I would try NW OKC. Around 122nd and Penn. There are a lot of apts there. The Highlands and Lincoln Greens are both nice apt complexes. They are near a lot of restaurants and shops...there is a lot of business in this area and the bus has a stop near there as well.
