because magnesium is not a strong metal and because it is highly flamable and burns very hot and has a blinding light.

because it is very expensive and not that solid

also it would be a bit ridiculous to go to such extremes to save a bit of weight, in a world when our good old friends in the US couldn't care less about the environment, and drive ever bigger trucks with ever bigger, gas-guzzling engines
