Yeah, why not? We've already got a ginger minger! I never thought I'd see that, a black actor I wouldn't have blinked an eye at (especially in the tuxedo!) but I was really shocked at this new one. Whatever happened to tall dark and handsome??

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Is the world gonna stop if they make one Bond movie with a black actor? So what if the character is supposed to be white, a bit of experimenting won't do any harm, it might actually come out soomething interesting. There has been so many Bond movies, I think they need a bit of variety. The actor should be British and definitely not P.Diddy nor Will Smith. Somebody fresh. Bring it on!

Before Daniel Craig was announced as the new James Bond it was rumoured that Colin Salmon was in the running He has appeared in a couple of the Bond films as one of M's staff and also the Resident Evil film and Alien Vs Predator. I think he would have made quite a good bond. He certainly would have broke the mould although i don't know if Casino Royale would have been the right film for him!!

I guess there could be, the thing is the public might not like a black James Bond because he has always been white. There were enough problems to begin with that the new James Bond had Blonde hair.

not for a while.
It will happen probably if the Bond series lasts long enough - in a generation or two perhaps.
After all the White ethnic English will probably have gone by then, so why not?
It would be interesting to know if there are many black operatives in the real secret service? Assume there are - so if the Bond films last & they keep coming up with the plots, it is as inevitable as a black prime minister.

I agree. U can't compare Bond to Ali. Ali is real.
I think that in the states, anything is possible. But, i don't the Oscars is just quite ready for a Black Bond just yet. The fuss over Daniel Craigh is just unbelieveable & i dnt think its just cos he's blond. Wasn't Roger Moore blond? I think it was his style that generated all the talk.
As for a Black Bond,? ask P. Diddy. I hear he is the one lobbying to be the next Bond!

I agree with lickintonight, the British seem to make such a fuss over who plays Bond, have you seen the way Daniel Craig was criticized for his performance, just because he had a different style to that other actor who was Bond before him... So a black Bond? I just don't see it yet.

Yes, he's a fictional character, but James Bond was created by Ian Fleming in a series of books. Ian Fleming's James Bond is white. That's not a matter of opinion or wishful thinking, it's fact.
