Just come across this article which offers a reason for Saddam NOT to be hung....http://www.slate.com/id/2152999/nav/tap1/

Do victims not have ANY human rights at all in the 21st Century?

I wish someone could tell me exactly WHAT right any victim has?

To CLARIFY "victim" - I most certainly DO NOT include Saddam as a victim. I refer not only to the Thousands who died because of his actions, but to victims of common assault, buglaries, victims who have been injured in car accidents driving by un-insured idiots etc etc etc.

By victims I mean not just victims of internatioinal attrocities, but local "home-grown" people - the people "next-door"

Hang him HIGH and hopefully publicly.

He's no victim!

Well, unfortunately for those opposed to Saddam's execution, the current Iraqi judicial system, just like everything else in Iraq, was reinstated by the Bush Administration. And that means that while I'm sure the verdict was handed down independently, the U.S. has made its position that Saddam must be punished well known. I'm sure there was a lot of indirect pressure there.

I don't really care either way, except for the fact that if he's executed, we'll never have to hear from him again. If they let him live, al-Jazeera, and every other Arab news network, will want to interview him, along with the fact that he'll probably issue bi-monthly "don't forget I'm still here" reports, sine he IS the former, once-elected leader of the country. And I'm so sick of him, that I really don't want his face on my T.V. again.

And THAT'S why he should be executed.

I think this issue depends on if you support capital punishment rather than the war. Granted his trail was a sham, but did he desirve a trial? How tempting it would have een to just shoot him on capture. But I think hanging him will liklely make him a martar in some regards. He desirves to be executed in my view, however many people are desirving of such a fate. Child Molesters, murders, in my view should be executed. However n Saddem's case its really the Iraqi people's call

I think the greatest right a victim has is to fight back. Victims can fight back in many ways.
In the United States we are supposed to be different. Yes we have a redneck leader famous for executing. Yes we have a leader whose machismo sheriff attitude has been damaged. Our leaders just as Iraq's will never admit guilt. They will never ask for forgiveness.
Victims of Iraq need not execute Saddam to fight back. Execution is just a symbol of more ignorant killing by angry ignorant men.

Anyone who is openly again US foreign policy is almost always pictured in our media to be cruel, barbaric, and tyrant. Saddam is one of them. But is he really the personification of evil that the American media pictured him to be. We will never know for sure because he was never given a fair trial by the US appointed Iraqi court. Besides, death is too barbaric a punishment. You can never correct a mistake by another mistake. Taking another person's life has no place in a civilized society.

No, that's not justice. Saddam should face an international court. The court he was in was all controlled by Bush and his sidekick at 10 downing street. I advise that we be more patient and consistent, instead of being reckless.

Put the bastard in a zoo. Cage him and treat him like the animal he is. Let people go to the zoo so they can see him alone with all the other animals. Just label the cage, "Monster".

From all the crimes he did, all the human rights he violated, all the money he usurped, I believed he should be kept alive and be tortured in public, naked, everyday. Only death will be his saviour.

What about the human rights of the people he slaughtered and degraded and terrorized during his regime? What about them? Let's quit worrying about how we treat the convicted murderer and worry about the people whose lives he affected both living and dead. KILL THE SOB!!!
