I think you need to rephrase the quetion. What is it exactly that you want to know.

If what you want to know is "What is the effect over population on
any given society" then you get one answer.

If, on the other hand, you want to know if over population causes suffering among a given society, you get a different, and much
shorter answer.

I will adress the second question first, because it is a short answer.

the answer is ..... YES.

Now for the big question:
"What is the effect over population on a given society".

IN the United Statets,. a country of individuals, as the population goes up so does the crime rate. And it is directly proportional.

Children are left in the care of total strangers, or left to there own devices when they are old enough to care for themselves. This
causes a whole new set of problems. The crime rate among young people increases, drug use among the young goes up.
And because computers have become so cheap that nearly
everyone can afford one. The young spend so much time of
in front of the computer that they become.FAT. Yes I said FAT.
No junk food dosen't cause it. Its caused by a sedentary lifestyle.

In China, the most over populated countru in the world, where the
family unit is most important, things are different. They do have
crime, but it isn't as population oriented, Its a lot less per million people then here.

This is sad to say, but without all the major "accidents", killings, bombings, illnesses, and such, over the years, where would the world be today as far as population. I think we'd be worse off. I believe that if there was a global family planning that it would help significantly but there would always be conditions that would interfere and I guess we just have to face it, things aren't going to improve in the next generation.

Population control is needed now. We only have enough resources for another 46 years at the current rate of growth. All countries especially third world countries need to limit increase in population.
