Our new kitten has relieved herself on our suede curtains - does anyone know is it possible to wash them at home in the machine or do they have to be dry-cleaned?

Based on the mess that my suede boots got into when they were wet, I would think that your curtains would need to be dry cleaned...but don't forget to tell the cleaners what the kitten did.

Even a regular dry cleaner can't do it. They mostly send the suede and leather out to a different establishment who specializes. However, if you can get your hands on one of those little steam machines like you see on TV, you can get stains out of suede. Try not to let it get too saturated(wet). Then use the blow dryer on low to gently dry the area. After that use a soft brush to bring out the texture of the suede again.

If they are real suede please do not wash them. They would be ruined if you do. Take them to a professional dry cleaner that specializes in cleaning suede and leather. Be prepared though because it`s going to be quite costly.
