B. 14 + 0.15w =14.60 ( 14 is the constant, therefore the variable is = to .60/.15 )

So to find this it would be 0.15 x w

The answer is B.

Dinner is a constant. You only had 1 dinner. Drinks are variables, you had more than one.....

14 + 0.15w = 14.60

This is 1 dinner, and unknown number of drinks at a given price, and you paid 14.60 all together....

When you isolate w, you'll get how many drinks you had.

B is the correct answer

Total bill is 14.60

cost of dinner is 14

Let there be w refills each one costing .15

total refilling amount is .15w

therefore equation is 14+.15w=14.60

bill amt. = $14.60 .............1

let 'w' be the no. of drink refills that u ordered.
cost of one drink refill = $.15
cost of 'w' drink refills = 0.15w

cost of ur dinner = $14

therefore, total amt u shud be charged = $14 + $0.15w ..........2

from 1 & 2,

14 + 0.15w = 14.60

hence, B is the correct eqn. to be used to find the no. of drink refills ordered.

b) clearly
you have the fixed cost of the dinner and a variable cost of the drink refills, meaning you have your variable W with the .15cost of a refill.
