What requirements do UK retail stores have with regard to maximum dimensions, weight, packaging, labeling, certification, stock holdings, merchandising and promotional material, returns policy etc for outdoor sports equipment that they sell?

Some background: I have designed and made a product for sale in the UK that allows children aged 5 to 12 to undertake sporting activities in their own gardens. As it is a bit bulky and heavy I now want to redesign it so that it can be sold through retail stores like Argos, ToysRus, sports shops etc.

I don't think it really matters as long as you ensure that you have justified every way of making it, and as long as it goes with health and safety and it is branded correctly.
