The hippy rebelled against the defined 'way' in the 60's

Chavs, like 'me or hate 'em, do what they want and have a common dress code. To me, chavs create crime due to boredom and lack of opportuinity.

The chav has been created by the country and just change from hippy to punk to rudeboy to whatever over time.

The differnece between a chav in 2006 and a hippy in 1966 is that the hippy's really tried to change the world for the better. They failed but at least they tried.

The chavs are not trying to change the world. They are just trying to make it worse. Chavs are not trying to form a revolution.

The hippys were mainly middle class and chavs are working class.

The hippys were mainly well educated but the chavs are not.

I guess I am out of the loop...I have never heard the term "chavs" before. Is it short for something?
