Greatfully, I'm not answering from experience but I hope I can give some well-thought out insight.

I would become more aggressive in my outlook toward life. A person's general personality to this point in life or what the adults are modeling around the child would dramatically affect whether that aggression was positive or negative, focused or self-destructive.But aggression wouldn't be the first response. I'd probably turn introspective, self-doubting, depressed and a partial doomsdayer, concentrating on the worst that could happen before I was able to come out of the situation functional again.

I would imagine when that person became a parent, that person would battle paranoia and over-protectiveness on a daily basis.

A situation arose in my hometown recently that affected several youth who could actually answer your question in several years. I pray for those children that they have strong secure adults around them to help guide them as they go through a turmoil of emotions trying to decide how and why "it" happened.

It may cause one to realize how precious life really is and so they learn to take time to enjoy the little things in life.
