You want redemption? Ok. Redemption is two things: first, admit what it is that you have done to need redemption. You can email me if you feel the need to confess privately, although one kind of preacher is as good as the next for this part.

Step two is to do everything you can to undo the damage caused by your actions. This may be giving back money or property or repairing something you broke, although it is tricky where human life is involved. If you have killed someone, all you can do to undo is to say "I'm sorry" and ask for forgiveness from the family.

The path to redemption is hard. You will have to not only be forgiven, but also the final step will be to forgive yourself.

i'm kind of a religious person, but not because of religiosity, so i think i can help. (of course, i'm curious how being a swordsman causes one to mistrust religion.)

anyway, think of it this way, all religions have a main purpose for humanity: to make you a better person, to make you strive to become a better person, or at least to make you (at least) want to become a better person. so it will not really matter what religion you have, for so long as you have a basic sense of good in you to strive to become a better person, as well as translate that into inspiring others to become better persons too through the life you lead. just by becoming the best swordsman you can be is religion enough if you ask me. or striving to become a better son, student, father, brother, citizen, etc. even if you mistrust religion, just make sure that you don't make others mistrust you, for by then, you give up your own redemption by your own conscious doing. honor and personal integrity is what will give you redemption; and these two are hard to come by without social conscience. best wishes.

i am coming to believe Religion was created to keep humanity in check and has been very successful over the centuries. I come from a catholic back round, I became a Christ ion and I am a quarter Jew by birth. So I was given a plethora of religions I could choose. but I watch a lot of the history channel equally as much as the discovery channel And the technology that we have today is pretty much discrediting the bible, Karon, whatever. I think it's really a karma thing generated by you and the energy you produce by being alive. if you give off bad energy what usually happens? People think your a ass hole right ? Right! And if your nice and do things selflessly then good things seem to happen. My suggestion to you is check out Buddhism I think those guys got something there.
good luck and remember you have the right to believe whatever you want.....
Cause you know this is a very touchy topic

now you get into the whole religious vs. spirituality discussion, but i know how you feel. if you are a swordsman your first mission is to trust in your self....your inner self. if you are a spiritual person, it's okay not to be religious. your spirituality is what you get out of it when you find that inner self.

I like Wise 1's answer. I am Christian and what he says works for me. Conduct yourself from this day on as a moral person. A little compassion in your heart will help you stay on track.
I hope you find what you are searching for.
