I am looking for organizations that are still taking applications for a adopt-a-family type of organization. I am in need of help to get my children anything for christmas.

Try the Salvation Army, Good Will, and Catholic Charities. Also contact DCFS they can steer you towards some stuff. I also think you still have time for Shop with a Cop I do not know any county in Illinois that does not run that program though I do not know much about cook county it is worth checking out. You should also contact some churches in your area. My Husband is a Marine and he says to contact toys for tots.

In our city the Salvation Army is currently taking applications for help at Christmas. I would try them. They are a good organization for such help. Also many churches offer help at this time of year.

Go to your local health and human services I think they usually have something. Check food pantries too.
