I'd recommend after Thanksgiving, so at the end of November at the earliest. Thanksgiving gets neglected so much these days, I feel Christmas trees shouldn't go up at least until Thanksgiving is over.

Obviously, you can put up a Christmas tree even before the first of December. My mom has already put up our tree in the house! In my opinion, I think you should put yours up a week before the month of December starts so that you'll have more time to prepare your decorations.

There are no absolutes as to when a tree should be put up, it is entirely up to the individual. In our home is goes up the 2nd week of December and comes down the day after New Years.

I put up my tree, it's artificial, and other decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving, usually. This year, we're actually setting it up for this weekend because my brother-in-law and his fiancee are getting married at our house and they want it to be festive.
If your tree is real, it is only recommended to be indoors for a matter of days, so you'd have to wait until right before Christmas.

You can put one up any time. I usually put mine up December 1st, or that weekend, if the 1st falls on a weekday. My sister puts hers up Thanksgiving night or the day after. Personally I think that's too soon.

Quite a few people in my neighbourhood have theirs up already. There is not set date as to when its proper to put it up. Do what your heart tells you..I personally always wait to decorate until December 1st, but thats just me.

I wouldn't. Not if it's a real tree! It will become very dangerous if it gets that dry. I wouldn't put it up until after Dec. 15 just my opinion.
